Jason has lived and worked in the Willamette Valley since 2017. Since arriving, Jason has been the Sommelier at The Joel Palmer House as well as Sales Associate with Handcrafted Wines. Living and working in wine country has afforded Jason the opportunity to gain expertise in the region by getting to know the geography, the wines and the people that make them.
Prior to relocating to the Willamette Valley, Jason served as Beverage Director, Sommelier and Wine Buyer at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. While his primary focus was the fine dining restaurant Spago by Wolfgang Puck, Jason managed the beverage program throughout the resort. Jason achieved the level of Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2008.
Jason Hunter has traveled to regions in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, South Africa and the United States to further his knowledge of viticulture and establish personal relationships with a breadth of international wine producers and styles.
